STICO Mutual Insurance Company, A RRG, received the inaugural CICA Outstanding Captive Award which recognizes creative uses of a captive or
risk retention group. STICO Mutual was formed in Vermont in 1988 as an association captive to insure the manufacturers of underground storage
tanks. In 1997, STICO Mutual opted to be fronted in various states, but later in 2002 converted to a risk retention group and registered in all
50 states. STICO Mutual’s evolution over the past 20 years exemplifies the spirit of the new award. Brian Donovan, President and CEO of STICO
Mutual since its creation, accepted the award.
